Maribeth Abrams, M.S., Certified Nutritional Consultant

For more than 15 years, Maribeth Abrams has been presenting nutrition information and cooking instruction to individuals and groups including St. Paul Traveler’s Employee Wellness Program, United Technologies Employee Wellness Program, Manchester Community College Health Education, Wild Oats Market, Whole Foods Market, La Leche League of Connecticut, Manchester Community College Culinary Arts, Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness Centers and at the annual conference of the North American Vegetarian Society.

Maribeth’s specialty is practical nutritional planning and meal preparation using a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes. This is because a diet based on high fiber plant foods that are naturally cholesterol-free has been shown to help reach and maintain ideal weight, and to help prevent and treat chronic health conditions such as heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis and diabetes. 

Maribeth has appeared on radio and television discussing food and nutrition (NBC Tampa, NBC Hartford, DUTV Philadelphia, WDRC Hartford), hosts the cooking DVD Tofu 1-2-3 with Olympic athlete Carl Lewis, and is the author of the cookbook Tofu 1-2-3 and the forthcoming 4-Ingredient Vegan.  

At the Monaco Center for Health & Healing in Glastonbury, CT, Maribeth provides nutritional counseling for weight loss, detoxification, food allergies, and healthy eating for the treatment and prevention of various diseases.  

Maribeth received her Bachelor’s Degree from Emory University, her Masters Degree from Georgia State University, and her nutrition training from the Global College of Natural Medicine. She is board certified by the American College of Drugless Practitioners.

Lesa McPherson, BS, RN, Certified Aesthetician and Skin Care Specialist

Lesa, a registered nurse, received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Wagner College in Staten Island, New York. She is a recent graduate of The New England Center of Esthetics Education in Northampton, Mass.

She has been employed at The University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, CT since 1991 and Interim Health Care of Farmington, CT since 1982. She has had a very rewarding career as a nurse, taking care of children, as well as adults, in a variety of settings, including intensive care, oncology, cardiac care and home care.

Lesa has recently joined The Monaco Center for Health & Healing to offer skin care services, including skin analysis, facials and a variety of state of the art anti-aging treatments. Consistent with the "Whole Life" philosophy at The Monaco Center, Lesa believes that healthy skin begins with proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Nourishing the skin with the proper, scientifically supported nutrients is crucial to rejuvenating the skin for a healthier, more radiant and younger looking skin.

Celeste Carlton, Practice Manager

Celeste is the warm and friendly voice you will hear when you call the office to schedule your appointment with Dr. Monaco. She will be happy to help you with any questions or concerns and will do her best to help guide you through the process of aging gracefully.

Prior to joining the Monaco team of professionals, Celeste was an Executive Director for a non-profit association where she was an integral part of membership drives, charity events and annual trade shows. She possesses senior level experience successfully leading, managing, and developing the growth of the health center with her expertise in Office Management, Marketing, and Strategic Planning.

Celeste’s background also includes teaching exercise classes and health and wellness training at various fitness centers in throughout Hartford County.

Doris Bourque, Founder of Quantum Energetics

Doris Bourque is the founder and chief specialist at Quantum Energetics, located in South Glastonbury, CT. She is a Certified Quantum Biofeedback Specialist, and has several years’ experience with biofeedback and the SCIO device. She continues to advance her training and certifications from the Quantum Alliance, which developed the SCIO device at the center of Quantum Biofeedback therapy.
